All the butterflies you can
see in our park from controlled breeding programms in
captivity. Many species are bred in our own Park, while
others are imported directly from special breeding centers (
Malaysia, Philippines, Costa Rica, Australia etc. ).
The breeding of butterflies contribute to the conservation
of its natural habitats, because this activity is directly
related to the preservation of the autochthonous flora on
which survival depends. |

female. After the mating act, which normally lasts about 24
hours, the female lays between 50 to 1.000 eggs. Each
species has got their own specific plant on which they lay
their eggs and the female needs to find it, as the
caterpillars can only feed on that certain plant. The female
butterfly will only mates once in her life. |
